Amish and Mennonites fascinate me.  My fascination with them is the slow pace that they live. I have lived in close proximity to several Amish communities when I lived in northeast Missouri.  It is refreshing to go back and visit the area.   The photos in this post include one Mennonite girl named Christine.  Christine worked in a local restaurant I had stopped in.  She was delightful and quick to tell me she was not Amish, she was Mennonite.  She said "I am Mennonite, we can have radio's, drive cars and go to movies."  

I have found them all to be friendly and gracious and would recommend a trip to northeast Missouri if you are looking for a new adventure. 

I had the opportunity to photograph a young model for All About Signs and Shirts.  They wanted to highlight all of the products that they sell and had a very photogenic fashion design major to model.  Here are some of the results.  Thank you Rhonda and Mallory!

The Wright City Strassenbash was rained out on Friday, September 16.  But in spite of the rain, an opening ceremony was held. All Saturday activities went on as scheduled.  Here are a few photos for the 2 days.  Check this week's Warren County Record for more photos and further details on the festivities. 

Working at The Warren County Record I get many opportunities to see events and activities in the community that I would not have if I didn't work there.  I recently was sent to Warrior Ridge Elementary School for The Record because the Lutheran Comfort Dogs were there to comfort students. Two students from our community had been  killed in a car crash and they had been classmates of students at Warrior Ridge Elementary.   Here are just a few photos from that event.
